Campagnolo is known for making beautiful Italian parts, but is having a hard time surviving as the bicycle market has shifted to offshore production and cheaper costs.
Manufacturing costs aside, Campy’s problem is their image and branding. The company’s proud and storied legacy is actually preventing the company from adapting to the modern era. History and craftsmanship sadly do not equal performance in the eyes of modern consumers. Unless Campagnolo is comfortable selling only to nostalgic 50+ old guys, they need to reinvent themselves.
